Music....language of the soul

.God gave us talents...Each of us is gifted with different talents...so we have to develop and enhance these...

Music is in the air..........

I was invited to attend a recital in a music school and was the speaker for that special occasion. I enjoyed very much as I watched the students play the violin, the clarinet and viola. There was one who played the trumpet playing a classical music. Wow! Magnificent! I, being a music enthusiast seemed to drift away as I listened. I love music and I can play the clarinet but not like that of a very professional player. My father had his own band of musician _ the rondalla.

As a young kid I loved to watch them play.My brothers played the trumpet and sax. Truly, music is in the family but I was not able to develop or enhance this because nobody encouraged me not even my father. It's because my parents were busy with our family business. My own children do not even have this inclination to play even a guitar. Music not in the blood? I don't believe so.

Because of my great desire, I vowed to myself that I will encourage my grandchildren to love music. If my grandchildren would be interested to learn, I will not hesitate to support them. I thank God, all of them are into music playing different instruments. My grandkids in the States are active in playing their own instrument in the church choir.

Yes! Music makes our life enjoyable. According to medical studies music lowers our blood pressure. I am talking about soul music, mellow music not rock! Music is a bond that binds two souls together. That's love song... Christian songs and hymns connect us to our God. It is through music that one could hope to contribute something to the uplifting of the human person...comforts the melancholic heart.

So, I could say that the training of the children in music is more of the preventive rather than the corrective measures especially in our present society wherein many are involved in drugs and teenage vices. An awakened appreciation of fine music affects the people's awareness of a happy and better life.As one becomes aware of beautiful music, you want everything as beautiful as possible.

Let's take for example, the Germans. The Germans are much advanced in music and art appreciation. Bach..Beethoven , etc..Because of their love for beautiful music, it is shown in their lives and their environment...Clean...joyful....nice aura everywhere..

As parents, we should also expose our kids to fine music. There is no such thing as one having "no ear for music". We all have ears for music. We could even sing in videoke bars. A child, on one hand could pick up anything you feed him.If you give him noise, he will pick it up. Give him good music and he will grow to like it. Good music has that power to uplift one's spirituality. This approach has the emphasis on values. Through music we feel we can best express what God has given us.

I would like to share these things _i.e.(1) Every single human being's personality- his ability, his way of thinking and feeling is carved and chiseled by training and the environment.(2) Talent is no accident of birth. We are born with natural ability to learn.Even a newborn child adjusts to his environment in order to live. Various abilities are acquired in the process. (3) It is important to guide children all through life. We must give much thought as to how children should be reared and trained, how the development of their minds, sense, wisdom and conduct should be guided.(4) If your ability was not nurtured properly, we have to develop it ourselves. Instead of being defeated by misfortunes, we have to make something good for our lives. There is no reason to give up in discouragement. It is possible for every person to improve himself.

It is not heredity that molds us but environment. Children live, see and feel..Their ability develops to fit their surrounding. The destiny of children lies in the hands of their parents. There is no result without a cause. Wrong education and wrong upbringing produce ugly personalities, whereas fine upbringing and good education will bring superior senses and feelings as well as nobility and purity of mind. So, the only concern for parents should be to bring up their children as noble human beings.

Our children may not be as famous as Ryan Cayabyab or Gilopez Kabayao. At least they could develop appreciation for it and be able to play an instrument. They could go into business or law or whatever profession they like, if they are not successful or gifted to pursue a concert career. Just tell them to be their best.

I remember in one of my readings__ Dr. Albert Einstein the great physicist, was also a musician. He was a very good violinist. He always carried with him his violin and during their free time,he and his other friends including Dr.Suzuki played their favorite music.

Consequently,it's always a good idea to enhance, sharpen one's talents because in the future you will greatly benefit from it. Just be happy that you are given the opportunity of learning the skills...it is God's gift.

To Any Girl named Hannah

Your name just came to my mind,
Hannah........the name rings
As my thoughts linger
slowly an image formed
The vision of you!

The eyes....oh...alluring!
the smile....even more captivating...
i could feel your breath reaches me
it lifted my spirits and...
i felt a new life in me.
springs new hope, new dreams, new ME...

inspired, made joyful by this elusive
Embraceable YOU!
yet, for a while I thought
you may be far _ beyond my reach
and yet no matter what
I'll keep the "vision" of you
Let it lingers though distance saddens my heart.

This elusive illusion drives me mad....sleepless
but I let it flirt around me
that everything is just a fantasy....

(still to be edited)
